the only time i would take those off is if you have goodrear control arms. they help with cutting wheel hop. i dont know if they serve another function also but i dont think so.

my quad shocks have been gone since the day i swapped in rear control arms... and i have never had wheel hop since.

a good set of upper and lower control arms, teamed with a GOOD set of rear shocks and springs... and you will never have wheel hop again

They control axle rotation.

They were Ford's answer to a cheap a rear control arm desgin.
Replace lower control arms with some ones form MM and dump em if you want.

i don't have rear control arms, but do have eibach springs and strange 10 way shocks and struts...the quad shocks were removed by previous owner, wheel hop doesn't seem to be too bad, but i do only leave on mark on burnotus sometimes, that pisses me off

so it seems you need to rebuild your differential... that has nothing to do with your suspension

I have replaced my upper and lower rear control arms with some real nice Heavy Duty non adjustable crap...also has Steeda Springs and some nice new shocks...I still left the quads on...no reason to take them off unless they are junk or you are trying to fit larger wheels..that is my 2 cents anyway...

oh, i know it has nothing to do with suspension, i was just throwin it in there, it only did it twice though, so its not a big concern of mine
