Default 5.0 L Oil Change

I recently took insurance off the Stang for the winter.
I wanna do an oil change myself (usually I take her to the shop) just want to know how many litres of oil it takes? I've got 2 jugs of castrol 5/w30 ready to go.

find a conversion chart somewhere, it takes 5 US qts

1 QT = .943 liters or something like that

most oil u buy will be in quarts . I remember about a month ago i went to auto parts store to buy some oil.... I was all stoned up at the time.... but i got into a conversation with the cashier about how they should label oil in liters, not quarts... .cars take liters.... haha I got home and was like, Wow I must have made an *** of myself.

Well in that case, I admire ur italian picture. One gallon = 3.785 litRES, so if u need about 5 quarts ur lookin at 3.785 x 1.25 = 4.73125 Time to get out ur graduate cylinder. Hah ... Id say 4 and 3/4 litRES will do u good.

Doesn't it say on the label when you pop the hood?

under hood labels will tell you the factory recommended lubricant. However, over time the motor wears, the bearing spaces increase, and the same thin oil that was recommended for the motor when new, just isnt thick enough anymore.

I typically recommend 5w40 on anything with over 50k, 10w30 for anything past 80k, and 10w40 (depending on the make of the car) on anything 110k or more.

of course, this is for cars that run conventional. If its a higher end car which (hopefully) has been taken care of better than little johnny **** ****'s first car, which he never checks anything on....then the recommendations still go by mileage, but its usually less strict.

ive seen cars with 80k and people running 20w50... then it knocks like a bitch when you run 10w30 in it.. because some ****tard though they had to run heavy *** oil... (usually old people)

I actually had one guy with a brand new nissan ask me for straight 40 oil.. I asked him what it was going in. When he told me it was going in his 07 maxima, I told him right out that I refuse to sell him that oil because he WILL destroy his motor. and that he NEEDED 5w30... he got mad.

then i showed him my Nissan certifications.... he just kinda shut up and listened to me at that point.

stupid old people.. [:@]
