Default 347 in fox body?

I'm looking to purchase a 90-93 lx. Most of what I see is low miles with a beat body or a perfect body with over 100 thousand. Is my best bet finding one in great condition and droping a 347 into it? Or should I go a different route?

5.0s last longer than 100k... ive gone from 132k-141k in the past 1.2 years.. all the while giving myself whiplash. Minimal car problems save for clutch R&R and maintenance(brakes, shocks).

Find one with a great body that has never been wrecked, if it has high mileage then let someone with mechanical know check it out. If the motor is good, then buy it and drive the hell out of it. Make upgrades along the way and if or when the motor goes then figure out what size you want to drop in.

I went 159xxx almost 160k miles on my stock motor... all original gaskets..

then i popped a head gasket. Motor was still good.. but I figured, while its apart.. might as well upgrade.

I just ended up dropping a 347 into the mix though

Well my 5.0 is about to turn over 207,000 miles! It still runs great, and doesn't look like it has ever been opened up. It runs great, no complaints here. It obviously has to be tired however, so I am poping in a new 331 to liven things back up.

Hey Adder, can't wait for final dyno numbers. Have you began your build-up yet? I still have a couple more weeks before I get the heads from my engine builder.

Cool, yeah I just sent Jay my build sheet for my cam. He estimated about 2 weeks to my doorstep so that should work out perfectly with my heads.

I am still bouncing back and fourth on which intake to use. I can't decide between the RPM II and the Holley. Which intake are you going to be running?
