Way to wild a cam for a street car...you'll never have a decent idle and I'm not a fan of single pattern cams on SBF'S but the limiting factor on that cam is that in the Footnote it says it's not computer control compatible..........try a little smaller with a rpm range of a max of 6500 or less cause you'll need a stout balance and short block to withstand High R'S

RE: quick question about camshafts for 5.0s
im sry what is h/c/i? lol
yea i want to fork over now and do it right the first time, even if it takes 6k just to build the motor, and its going to be an "off road use only" car, so strictly strip.
what do you mean by single pattern cams and SBFs? sorry again
and the computer part lost me too. lol

h/c/i = heads cam and intake. And a single pattern cam has the same lobe profile for the intake and exhaust. And you're not gonna drive this thing on the street at all?

ooo ok thanks.
maybe just once a while to keep everything lubed up but other than that no. CA laws are terrible, for emissions. so i have to put it as off road use only so i dont have to smog it.

idk i dont want to waste my money for HCI
im in no hurry to get it done
and 6k is still not going to be enough for a top end setup, im thinking of twin turbo...

No matter how much blower you put on a stock engine, it's still going through stock heads and still being held by stock internals. You'll make more power and have better reliability with a h/c/i and some internals, rather than a blower on a stock engine

RE: quick question about camshafts for 5.0s
some of the best advice your goin to get, dooo the h/c/i, its a great start, and not to mention when your in there, you can do all the internals right away, chances are if u just slap a power adder on, you won't make all that much power, and your probably going to break something. H/C/I is a great building block to start with
