Default Tranny swap

What parts do I need to swap out an AOD transmission for a T5 transmission in a 1988 Mustang Convertible?

Most likely not.
You might get lucky and find a complete setup on ebay though.

Im very seriously considering a 5 speed swap in my car due to the fact that I absolutely cant stand the automatic anymore. I just dont like the way it shifts even with a shift kit.

One thing Im wondering about this swap is if the crossmember needs replacing. Ive seen alot of them listed on ebay as 5 speed crossmembers but I thought all v8 ones were the same.

you can use the stock cross member, but you need to grind off the tack welds that keep the cross member in place at the ends... once you have the new tranny installed, you SHOULD get the crossmember welded again so it removes any excess play.

That seems rather expensive.
I thought the 'kit' I was bidding on on ebay was too much money when it got over $700+ shipping.
