I'm quite sure it could be done, it would make the cam = bigger. Correct me if I am wrong.

I have the Ford Performance Parts Cobra rollers. They add about 15-20 more lift and convert the H.O. to atrue roller. You will need tall valver covers. I have stock SN95s on mine and it sounds like the RR's are tapping on the covers. Make sure you get pedestal mounted ones.

so if he got the taller valve covers, ped. mount, yea i know he'll get some more lift, did u notice performance increase at all, hurt anything ?

The car definatly felt better. Hot Rodmag got 21hp on a Junkyard Jewel. Thats about 15hp to the wheels.

They will free up a little HP and create less friction, but the stock cam is still only like 488lift with 1.7rr's or something pathetic like that. Don't expect anything huge. And you don't NEED new valve covers, you just need to take out the baffel that is below the oil fill neck so that the rockers can clear. This can be done with a dremel in about 10 min.
I had them on my 91 when it was stock. Add a new intake manifold, MAF, TB and 1.7rr's and then you would have a nice increase in power and throttle response. |
