Default RE: performance question

but the cam was installed alone the gear didn't come til later. the 15.1 was with cam only, without even changing springs in the heads i believe, which i did later. the 14.7 was the next run after i had put on every thing else that it has now. i never mentioned what exhaust i was running i noticed ,but it was a custom x no cats wit mac pro dumps. also for more clarification it had the strock t body, non-ported intake, and stock gt rockers with that 14.7 run. it's gettin those as it's going back together hopefully to help it some more. so i really wonder wtf was my car so slow? everyone else knows it should've been faster which confirmed my suspicions, so whats going on with it?

Have you done all the normal tune up stuff to make sure the car is running optimal? Wouldn't hurt to check the timing also. With stock heads your cam is going to do pretty much nothing for your car.

Maybe I missed it, but your car is a 5-spd right???

Also, like onyx said, the new cam is not going to do much for performance in a stock headed car. Those heads can only flow so much (which is very little). Have you changed your fuel filter? Checked fuel pressure? What do you shift at?

Also what 'chip' do you have?

yes it is a 5 speed unfortunatley not because i don't like 5 speeds just because they are slower then auto stock and mines almost slower then the 95 gts auto that my dad has if not slower and all its got done to it is bypass the smog pump i shift round a five thousand. fuel filter has been changed after i bought the car which will be three years in february but i only put about 20 k on the car since then. it also has a bbk 190lph fuel pump pressure is regulated at 39. and this is what jms chip cororation said " need to have fuel pressure and timing set to stock that the chip will change it on the different levels of performance." it's like a three stage chip. i know the heads suck. i wish i could find some exploder heads and intake for it.
