429 in a fox body
I am always thinking of sick things to do-and this is a stretch. Would a 429 (7.0) fit in a fox body-do they have the frame for them and could it be a truck motor or could it be a car motor?I figured I'd run the car carbureted w/ normal bolt ons-should easily get nice power out-ne suggestions

RE: 429 in a fox body
429's and 460 blocks are the same.. you can turn a 429 into a 460 by puting a 460 crank in the 429 block... dosent work that way for the boss 429's though. 429/460 into a foxbody swaps are more popular then youd think. youll need to order the custom (side) motor mounts (unless you go the motor plate rute) install a electric fan (because the stock fan wont clear unless you install a body to k-member spacer wich are verry cheap to make) cut the tack welds on the tranny crossmember and slid it back, chop and rebalance your driveshaft, make sure to have a rear sump oil pan (comes stock in 2 wheel drive trucks) and thats about it... with the k-member spacer, you dont even need a taller hood to clear, ...ive done it a few times and a stock 460 out of a truck with only a good tune is a cheap way to make a fast hot rod that dwels into the 13's theres a sight you might wana go look at... www.bigblockfox.com
