when i step on the throttle when the car is moving or not moving it will stick around 2,800 rpms... and then after awhile it will drop only if im not moving... if im moving the car wiill continue to stick at like 2,500 rpms .. only when i come to a complete stop does the rpms fall. i just cleaned the throttle body, cleaned the iac, new tps sensor set at a good setting. Its a 95 cobra with (a9l computer (87-93 mustang) and its got a e cam and edelbrock heads, and its got a 75mm mass air calibrated for 24 pound injectors.

I had the same problem. it turned out to be the iac. to test it i covered the port for the iac with a piece of sheet metal and put the iac back on just to keep the sheet metal flat. if your car runs fine then the problem is the iac. the i ac is designed to keep the idle up when you turn on the a/c so test the car with the a/c off or your car will stall or the idle will be to low.

You sure about this? what year car do u have and what sort of mods? the rpms stuck when u were driving? like when u shifted gears and ****? so take a metal plat and put it over the holes where it goes and then turn the car on and see if doing the same thing and if it is ... its that and if its not the car will stall and run really lower rpms?

I had a similar problem when i replaced my throtle body make sure the tps sensor is not overtightened becuase it can cuase the throttle to stick. Hope this helps.

so u loosened the screws on the tps and it went back to normal?

If I understand this correctly, the throttle is not actually "sticking" the blade in the Throttle body is closing but the engine speed is staying up even with the TB blade closed. Am I understanding this correctly? If so, the RPM can only stay up with supply of air bypassing the TB blade if it is closed. I would think you are looking at problem with the IAC or a vacuum leak.

yeah u are understanding correctly i guess im gunna have to change the iac.. i already cleaned it and it did nothing lol.. ive been looking vacumm leaks everywhere cant seem to find one...
