One more thing...you never said whether or not the car is an auto tranny or a 5 speed?
I'm guessing it's an automatic, hence the need for more power?

You might be happier leaving the engine alone and having some 3.73 or 4.11 rear gears installed. The car will respond like it has more power everytime you take off. But rpms on the interstate will be higher in 4th gear. As long as the rpms at 70 mph are under 2500, that shouldn't be a problem for everyday driving on the highway. Around town will be fun though.
Rear gears are alot cheaper to have installed than tearing down the whole engine....if it ain't broke, why fix it?

coarse you can just drive what ya got and start a build up while enjoying the car..
