Default Fuel Pressure

Ok i have heard that carbed cars do not require the same pressure that EFI cars do. Most of the folks that have similar set-ups but Fuelie use 255lph pumps. what is the equivalent for carbed cars. Also what is that application of the pressure regulator with a carbed set up.

holley blue pump is an equivallant performance pump that puts out 14 psi and comes with a regulator so you can dial it down to 4-6 psi where most carbed cars need to be...I have the blue pump ..it's noisy but so is my carand I run NOS so I need the extra fuel pressure capability

So you just bump the pressure prior to the run? Can it be done remotely. You may know this...will an MSD 6AL retard timing electronically for juice or does that have to be specifically dont at the Dist!!

I've got an aeromotive1000 pump with a drop sump in the tank..alittle overkill with a return line..Those holley Blue pumps work great..had a few 10 second cars with those....and theHolley blacks pumps even better...I do run a return stylesystem on this car..I normally run 6.5 psi all the time...no reason to bump it up or down for track use...
You'll need a timing retard box for thatorI think maybe a MSDDigital 6 has a single timing retard for nitrous....

You just hook up a retard box to your 6AL I'm pretty sure.

PS, the holley blue pump is commonly referred to as the "annual pump" as in it lasts about a year

For alot of street driving I can see that..a return line would help..

Does the return line basically branch from the input of the carb and just allow a set lower pressure to enter or is it attached somewhere else and has nothing to do with input pressure?

It basically allows unused fuel(at idle not much used or part throttle)to return to the tank..via the fuel regulator. Fuel pressure off the regulator is the same...
