Default about to build h/c/i need help

ok first of all i apoligize if this question has been asked before, but the search button really doesn't work and i went back searching for the last hour and half............ ok i have about 3000 dollars to spend on a hci combo and i know i want the AFRs 165cc but i haven't decided on what intake and cam to purchase. im thinking about the comp cam xe270 but can't find much info on it, on the intake side i'm leaning toward the trickflow street heat, but have heard good things about edelbrock performer too. i also don't know what size throttle body, roller rockers, and mass air i want either. I have a 92gt with bbk shorties, o/r h and flowmasters(don't know which ones, came with the car) and 3.55 with 150k any ideas or combos would be appreciated, thanks

http://www.rhsheads.com/Information/...Ford_180cc.asp I don't know very much about these guy's but have gottne some positive feedback from a couple of folks who have bolted them on straight out of the box and have been really happy with them. They are very affordable and that will free up a couple of bucks so you can get a good intake, throttle body and camshaft. Assem. for a hydraulic roller is just under $900, which is great fora 180cc head.

This cam is rated for use with1:7 rockers.

A good aftermarket head should be able to handle the lift without spring binding.

The Trick Flow Street heat seems to be afavorite, but you cannot go wrong with Edelbrock also so that choice may be well up to you.

You do not have to be terribly aggressive on the Mass air and Throttle body. 65mm is more than adequate to get that thing breathing well. Don't get too crazy though, that's a lot of miles on that motor.

This is also a decent cam for what you are trying to accomplish from Ford Motorsports and is a little more conservative.

Trick flow makes great intakes or the Holley one both very good. I lean towards the Trick flow though

I used to havea Trick Flow stage 1 cam and the Trick Flow street heat intake with the AFR 165s and it was a great combination. It had a good sounding lumpy idle and the camis reasonably priced. I made over 300 at the wheels with that combination and it had the drivability of a stocker. For a throttle body I have a 65mm and the mass air meter is a C&L 76mm.

i personally have the bbk ssi intake and love it gained hp and torque over the edlebrock performer. i have 70mm tb and 70 mm cobra mass air with #24 injectors. i would upgrade injectors mine would run lean at full throttle with #19's. as for the cam something like a comp 35-302-8-281hr or xe270hr. both shoudl give you nice driveability and lots of power.

I don't know about you, but 853$ A PIECE for aluminum 180cc runner heads is pretty damned expensive.

Not compared to what's out there.....Compare it to AFR, TFS, Dart and the price is not only competitive, but a damn good bang for your buck considering. Why pay more money for AFR 165's?
