Going from stock E7's to Professionally ported GT40's will net you more than 10-15 HP. Just get the heads ported. You will not be dissapointed.

it dropped 2.3 seconds off of my 1/4 mile time

and the car isn't tuned yet (and likes to overheat when I am driving it hard)

i know ported gt40s will give more than 10-15hp. i have enough weight moved from the front of my car that i had to lower to make it look even. 50lbs isnt gonna make that huge of a difference in a street car. besides like isaid i have the heads already had em for awhile so why deal with the aggrivation of having to sell and or ship them and pay another 500-700$ more for some heads that i really dont need. besides from what i hear ported gt40s can outflow some alum heads out there

My appologies, I thought that the heads were already on your car so my estimate of 10-15HP was over what the unported GT-40's would be worth, not what you would gain with ported GT-40's over stock E7's.

Don't you think it'll be just about the same aggrivation to send your heads out for porting and pay for them as to it would be to buy aluminum heads? How much is port work, even from Thumper? $500+?

That may be, but he already has the heads. so $500 compared to a good set of aluminum heads (appx. $1000).

im surprised you guys are saying that ported gt40s will only give 10-15 horses. Iv heard people talking on here about running gt40heads cobra intake and custom cam and puting a little over 300 down on a dyno.

He thought that he already had the GT-40s on his car, and was saying that having them ported would probably only net him 10-15 HP more than what he had. However he did not know that he is still running the stock E7's so the gain would be much larger from stock e7's to ported GT40's.
