Well my buddy has the Trickflow topend kit, and to be honest I wasnt impressed, I have GT40 Aluminum heads, a Crane cam, 1.7 rockers, 24# Injectors, 255lp fuel pump, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and 70mm throttle body, and keep in mind this is on a stock 100,000 mile bottom end. He only made 20 more horsepower than me on the chassis dyno, I bought all of my stuff from swap meets, and just knowing people. So I spent way less than him. But if your down with spending lots of money....go for it i suppose, thats just my 2 cents.

if you don't know what to look for and or don't want the hassle of putting together your pwn kit and you want it all to show up on your door step in one shot then a trick flow kit would be for you...however for less you can put together your own kit and make more power

i'd say the kits are good for the inexperienced. if you want to save money and make more power, just do some research and do it on ur own

You will save that much on the front end...The turn around a year or so later and spend ten times that because what benefit you will get you will grow tired of.. Most of us are ADHD when it comes to speed. Kit's are no fun because they offer no flexibility they are designed strictly for the guy who wants a cool little street car that performs just slightly better than when it rolled off the lot.

You can go to FRRP, or for that matter buy a set of Victor Jr. or AFR 165 heads straight out of the box, an Edelbrock Performer, TFS Street Heat, or Holley Systemax intake, 65mm mass air and 75mm T/B, throw in a good camshaft like go to Anderson Ford Motorsports and check out the custom grinds they have that are almost dead nuts what you would look for for the set up you are wanting, throw in a set of 24lb injectors even though you are probably fine with the stock ones and you will monkey stomp someone that bought the kit.

I pieced my setup together and spent more than a kit.
Ive got AFR 165 heads, an Edelbrock Performer intake (on the car when I bought it so it doesnt factor into the cost), a custom ground Comp Cam by FTI and Harland Sharp roller rockers and Crane pushrods.

But I bet your assembly will probably out do a kit, that was kind of my point, you'll save $300 bucks and spend a thousand to make it better
