Default Clutch just went out! Any suggestions?

Well the clutch has definitly seen better days! Since im a newb, i dont know what are some of the good clutches for stangs. I have an 87 5.0 all stock except shorty headers and exhaust, and my plans are to make the car run in the low 13's. What kind of clutch should i put in it? What has everyone had the best luck with? Should i just put a stocker back in?

If you want to get back on the road and you don't have any short term plans for modifications why not use a stock replacement?

yeah, i might just do that, i am putting gears in it next. Quick question...What should i be running at the 1/4 if i have shorty headers, and flowmasters. everything else is stock. i haven't ran it yet, so i was just wondering what to expect.

What should you run on 87 gt mostly stock with shorty heads and exhaust?

You will most likely 15's. You're going to need more modifications to bring that down. However, unlike honda's, this is relatively cheap to do.

traction is everything in a 5-speed 5.0

you can break in the 13's w/ a stock car and sticky tires, especially speed density cars.

but you will prob run about a 14.50-15.00 on street tires and stock gears, 4.10's and cheater slicks will get you 13's all day though, 13.50 range

stock replacement or king cobra is a fine choice for what your looking for. the king cobra feels stock but a bit stronger

TIP: do the rear main while your in there
