Default steeda aerospoiler vs saleen spoiler?

I am in the midst of deciding whether to go with the steeda or saleen spoiler for my 89 GT...Is all the hype about downforce really true or is crap?....the steeda looks good to be different than everyone else but the saleen probably wins on looks a little better....I want the downforce action on the rear that they advertise?....I will be relocating the battery to the trunk and already have the rear seat delete kit....my goal is a great power to weight ratio...tell me what you all think

The steeda and saleen spoilers do apply downforce but you have to exceed speeds over 100mph. to have them benificial. Thats a hard choice. I like the steeda wing, but I like the saleen a bit more. It has a great racing history with the fox bodies. I would go with a saleen I think it would be engineered the best. But thats just my thought.

Are ya'll talking about the the Steeda wing that came on the Q400s and the double-stack Saleen wing?

Basically the spoiler in the rear is only for looks. You would have to be going WELL OVER 100mph for it to have any real effect on the car. If you were to put the car in a wind tunnel, or just look at the car, you can see that the angle of decent from the roof to the spoiler is too great for the air to go over the spoiler properly. The air is basically going about 4 feet over it, you can see in autox the wings that actually work on 5.0's are mounted near the roof, and extend past the roof.

yea you see the car they just had in MM&FF. It was a road racing foxbody and it had a big metal wing right past the roof.

Aliate x is right the hatch is to steep for a spoiler to really work its more look, have you ever wondered y the 00 cobra r wing is so tall, its because it is really needed not like on are cars.i like the steeda wing, you see so many saleen wings do somethin a little diff.
