If no luck here, check your exhaust to ensure it is secure. Get up in there and wiggle it around. If you find its loose, you may have found your problem.

Another to check is the tensioner, thought my new motor had a serious problem, went hunting, tensioner was making all the noise.

while its off, spin all the pullies and see if any of them are harder to spin than the others or if they grind or something

i spun em alll, A/C made a little metal on metal grinding which is prob the culprit cuase thats what hte sound is...

alt wobbled a lil bit

p/s was def not as easy to turn as the a/c and alt but it turned

water pump seemed pretty free moving and obviously i really can't turn the crank..... ill find out once i delete the a/c and put hte new pulleys on....

Is the tube coming from the mid pipe plugged properly? If your EGR is removed and the exhuast header isn't plugged properly or cap is loose, this will cause a rattling noise too.

well its not a rattling noise...

my exhaust does rattle thought, i prob have to go under here and tightend everything up

sounds kinda like a industrial strength circular saw cutting through thick metal tube, like that metal on metal contact grinding noise. pretty sure i have found the culprit its only a matter of time before i eliminate the a/c completley and put new aluminum pulleys on...

btw little off topic from this topic

with in 1 1 1/2 weeks of each other i plan on getting electric fan installed... a/c delete, p/s relocated and aluminum pulleys and obv with a/c gone a shorter belt, the car should feel alot more powerful right? then hopefully 3.90 rearend going in about a month
