Default spun a bearing?

Okay i developed this issue back in the middle of the summer after i just just did a delete of my smog pump and put a short belt on the car

when i rev over a certain rpm about 2500ish the car will make a metal on metal grinding noise
like a whistle but it sounds like pure metal on metal

someone said check the belt but u can't hear it under the hood only when the hood is close or ur in the car revving... from 2500rpms its consistant

doesn't seem to hurt performance...

and i was thinking it and my cousin just suggested it, i could have spun a bearing but wouldn't that make the car pretty much undriveable??

any one have similiar issue? bearing a easy fix or does the engine need to be torn into for the fix?

!. if it was a main bearing or rod bearing, I would think you would be walking right about now.
2. If by chance it is either....I have not yet developed a way to replace a rod or main bearing without tearing the motor down.

If oyu have all your accessories, it coud be a bad alternator, a/c compressor, or a variety of rotating equipment issues.

belt slippage, or compressor bearing failure, also inspect the pulleys for wobble
