well, I have said all i can, but it seems you dont want to do it the proper way, do whatever you want man, it is YOUR car.
just dont come whining here if something fails because you listened to others telling you the wrong thing to do.

is there a writeup somewhere on how to do the crushsleve and all that?

i tried the search function and it isnt working

i already have the diff cover off because the seal needed to be replaced because the fluid was leaking out both sides of the diff

i may do the bearings for the axles aswell, i dont want to take apart the trac-loc because the gears mesh almost perfectly and the trac-loc is still good

1 last question

if i take out the gears to replace the crush sleve will i need to redo the backlash and re-shim it?

or can i just take it out and replace the sleve and put everything back to the way it was?

Not if you get everything exactly like it was when you took it apart. Be careful not to mix up the two bearing caps that hold in the trac-loc, they are machined specifically to their respective sides just like main bearing caps of an engine. Crushing that collar isn't going to be fun. You may be better off finding someone to help that has done it before to help you along. It's no that hard but on your first try it may be a little tough.
