Default performance steering?

well my rack is leaking on my 91 gt and when i went to pepboys to price a new one, they asked if it had performance steering or not. both racks were about the same price but whats the difference? im thinking it must be the gear ratio but not sure. anyone know?

If you get quick ratio be prepared for a little learning curve. Standard ratio for day to day driving is fine. In fact unless you are planning to go with a manual rack, standard ratio is all you want. Basically with a quick ratio and pwr steering a sneeze is putting you into a wall

And I think you are pretty much on target replacing the rack, if you are not eating front tires, the drift is more than likely a worn rack.
