yes but if it doesn't come with the dowl kit then you need to order the ford racing one that comes with new pressure plate bolts and dowls.....keep in mind that an 85 had a 10 inch clutch and that flywheel is for 86 and up and is for a 10.5 clutch...it'll work just fine as long as you don't try and use a 85 clutch with it.......so you'll need to order a clutch for a 86 and up mustang

look what car is in my sig????? any questions now??? and it's not an 86 either.........86 was the first year of a 10.5 clutch...if you doubt me go to your local napa and have them pull a 85 gt clutch off the shelf and one for an 86 and you'll see the difference.....I still have my original clutch out of my 85 gt under my bench trust me it's a 10 inch clutch = visablly smaller then an 86 10.5

I just looked at my original 85 flywheel and the only real difference from my 86 and up flywheels are that it didn't come with dowl pins so the flywheel you want to buy from summit should work with either clutch as long as bolt patterns line up but If I were you I'd go 10.5 clutch and with that you'd need to install a dowl kit like I stated...but 85's are equiped with 10 inch clutches

it wont work with the 85 bellhousing... the 10.5 clutch pressure plate would drag against the bellhousing and make all kinds of funny noises
