Default Replacing heads help

OK, the time has come to add some new AFR 185 heads. The big question is am I looking at a 9 hour job? It there a real good wright up step by step with pictures as how to do this? I had posted a couple of days ago I did a honking burrine and might of popped the cork....Head gasket? Maybe...But to be sure, I will run a pressure test. That being said, what do I do first as far as tearing down the to the block? Thanks

there are good write ups but youll have to do a search, here and on google. a 9 hour job is optimistic, since it sounds like you have never done this before, the first time you dive into a job this big will take you a while. im going to guess 12 - 13 hours. when i did mine for the second time[:@] everything went smooth and quick and it still took me about 10 hours to get done. DONT REUSE HEAD BOLTS!! they stretch, then you get to say hello to your pistions again while your replacing your head gaskets.

Another good point, that is were I think I saw some bubbling...I over revved to 7000 and No 8 headed bolt was fizzing with some anti freeze? I might of popped the water seal?

Hmm..you're on the right track as you said you were going to pressure test it. I just noticed the other day too (not sure if you have one or not) that auto zone has coolantpressure testers in their tool rental program. Couple this with a compression test/leak down test, and you'll probably be able to narrow it down pretty good.

It's really not that bad of a job. Just take your time, and things should go pretty smooth.
