So i just threw some used, good heads on my mustang, went threw the whole procedure slow and did it right, with all the right torquing and whatnot. I just put new coolant in too, so i finally got the car running and let it get hot and run a while, and finished up putting coolant in it, but its really smoking bad. After putting heads on yours, did it smoke a lot initially and eventually die down. I didn't get a chance to take it for a run, but should the smoke go away?

Smoke in the engine bay like oil burning off the headers, or smoke out of the exhaust?

I just put E7 heads on there, because im just trying to get the engine to run smoothly and i currently dont have enough money for an upgrade, but the smoke is coming out of the exhaust pipes and its a gray smoke.

let it run for a good 10-15 min... if it keeps doin it its seals or something... if not... well dont stress

ive swaped my heads and i had alot of smoke at start up...but it went away

Yeah sometimes when doing a head swap you get some water down in the cylinders, and it just has to burn off.
