how to convert to mechanical Roller cam
My buddy's got a 5.0 and hes got a small cam in it but this winter hes getting a new intake, and he wants to convert to a bigger roller cam. What is all needed to swap to a mechanical roller cam and how hard is it to do. I don't know much about 5.0's so i can't help him.

y do you want mechanical? not necessary just stay hyd.. mech requires a lot of maintence. but to answer your ? he will need a mech roller cam, mech roller lifters, stud mount roller rockers, heads converted to stud mount, and pushrods.

ok roller will last longer, smoother revvs, better throttle response. hyd is only good for about 6000-6500 rpm, but they dont need to be adjusted. mech roller and flat tappet will need to be adjusted periodically to keep them from tearing stuff up and keep the car running right. i dont personally like flat tappet would recommend roller to any one for all reasons. solid will revv to the moon!
