Default trouble shifting in and out of gear

so I drove her for the first time today damnnnnnnnn is it hard to shift into gear... the previous owner sais its not a stock tranny and the gear ratios are set up for the track... how do I go about making it a bit easier to shift without changing the tranny?

thanks,
Pat

if your car was sitting for awhile it might just need to be driven. I had my car for 8 months before i drove it and the first couple days it shifted really hard and then eventually smoothed out (its an AOD)

if its a stick...see if it has an adjustable clutch cable? you can look underneith the car and its basically on the bottom of the tranny you will see the cable. if its ajustable... tighten it. whats probably happening is the clutch isnt disengaging all the way when you go to shift gears. and you shouldnt have to put the clutch pedal all the way to the floor. if you are and its not going in smoothly you need to have the clutch adjusted. or doit yourself. goodluck

Yeah.... what this guy said. And do it soon or you're gonna kill your sycros... if they aren't already toast from the last owner driving it this way for too long.
