Default Timing set points?

ok static should be 14 and @ 3500 rpms it should be around 40?

the motor was built by another machine shop and is not stock blue print i was told by the guy i bought it from was around 450hp

also using a summit street strip dist. and an accel ign. coil and 8mm wires. nothing stock

Total timing will be determined by the engine setup itself...... it's not a given number that you should use. To find out what setting will work better, you need to test it, and use ET as your guide, start with 36 total, test, change to 38, test....etc, etc.... until you obtain the best performance.... and make sure no engine knock is present.
