Default RE: emission question

for EFI: long tube headers instantly screw you in CA
anything that moves the stock location of the o2 sensors is 100% illegal. no exceptions.
something about the engineered distance from the sensors to the main heat source... proper calibrated temps are supposedly not reached

been seeing those mobile smog stations crop up randomally for 8 months now.......

Default RE: emission question

you can buy a packaged engine...even a 347 stroker you get a smog sticker explaining your new legal requirements to the smog tech..... you are now are graded different from the next guy

has NOTHING AT ALL to do with saving the world cleaning the air improving quality of life or conserving natural resources.... JUST that a company PAID enough $$$ to the RIGHT PEOPLE and they ISSUED an order overwriting "normal" rules JUST for them. for some reason crane cams has several 50 state legal cams for the 5.0 but Comp Cams has NONE...even though comp has cams that don’t spit as much unburnt hydrocarbons into the air... they didn’t PAY for OFFICIAL (read: expensive) certification.

Yeah I had a big block propane truck tried for 3 years to get it legal, my worst emission was 0.25% of normal pass meaning that I could have saved a condor, or a rare tree, or an aborigine. NO dice, the smog referee didn’t like me so I did not pass. He could have passed me but didn’t feel like it. I got moving permits for those 3 years then sold it!

ok I feel better now... temporailly anyways[>:][:@]

so pretty much when they tune your car for emissions, they just making it more lean?
pretty much what im getting added on to my car is, edleborck rpm performer 2, 70mm tb and egr, afr165 heads taht come with the emission legal piping, and a vortech sq-trim 2 i think its called not sure have to look again, but if this seems its not gonna work, im gonna keep they stangand get a, jeep that will pass smog and get me around without no worries, and then i can drive the stang on week ends

thats a good plan, nice parts... well the intake is legal, the tb is legal, heads.... however the certification reads: when applied to an otherwise stock engine.
If you get an **** tech you may not pass even if emissions are ok

however Id say you have a 95% chance of passing with the parts you mention if you bring documentation of the EO orders to the smog shop and you actually pass at the tail pipe[sm=usa.gif]
