Okay...there's a difference between actual "head porting" and just gasket matching.
On the pics I posted, you'll see the actual bowl work where the valves are removed. The air flows through the ports from the intake, into the bowls, then into the combustion chamber when the valves open.
It's okay to match the port openings to the gasket size, but it's worth minimal gains in HP. I did the same thing. Gasket matching is another part of a decent porting job.
But the actual airflow gains will be realized from the bowl work under the valves, and recontouring the transition from the bowls into the ports.
It's all worth a bit more peace of mind...working on your own stuff, it's what hotrodding is all about.

looks like a gasket match port job...still help but that intake has to go unless you have it extrude honed......the easiest way to unshrout the valve is to go with bigger valve ....but always use the cutback valves

vfast that looks great, so with bowl porting do you just smooth it out or what?

Talkin' to me or vfast? lol
I think vfast said you need to switch upper and lower intakes, maybe to a GT-40?

If you look in the bowls before any work is done, you can tell that material needs to be removed. But at this point, go ahead and run what you have, I don't see anyone else on here offering any decent advice, so don't listen to just me and ruin a set of heads.

There's a big difference between bowl porting and just gasket matching an aluminum intake or the head ports.
The reason I posted this was to find out if there's anyone here who actually has something to offer, I haven't seen any replies yet, just a couple vague comments.

Since I'm not a porting expert, I can't really say what's best to do, I was just showing what I did as practice. Sorry, but I guess this is dead in the water. lol[sm=lame.gif]

My intake was done when I got it.I was thinking about trying it on a set of F-150 heads I have sitting in the garage.
