Default distributor

so today io notice that my distributor was loose so i turned it counterclockwise because it seemed harder to turn but then the car would not start, so i turned it clockwise a little to see if that was why it didnt start, and it started but runs ****ty sop i turned it clockwise alot and it seems better but isnt running all that great is the disributor sopposed to be turned al the way clockwise? i turned it til the clip is hitting a radiator hose but it seems loose still

joel...i doubt he gets what ur sayin

the dist. isnt "screwed" in or anything... your going to need a timing light, and gonna have to learn how to use it(we have a write up in the stickies) set timing(10deg. btc) and tighten the bolt at the bottom of the dist. not the dist it self

he knows your timing is off, the dist. position directly relates to spark timing

oo alright so theres a bolt that i tighten to tighten the dist? i get it but is there anythjin that wil help show me how to set my timing. should i bump it up a little

What the hell??? Were you thinking that the distributor is like a screw and if you turned it that it would tighten? Even if that was the case it would be lefty lucy, righty tighty. Find someone to give you a hand. A manual will be your friend.
