Default Starting Issues

I have a 95 Mustang GT 5.0 - 5 speed Daily Driver. I bought it about a month ago with 150k on the ticker. I'm having issues with it starting quickly. I usually have to turn it over 3 to 4 times holding it for 4 seconds each turn of the key. I have replaced the spark plugs (autolite double platinum), wires, coil pack, and distributor cap/ rotor button (msd) and its startinga little better but still takes 2 or 3 turns at 4 seconds each. Any suggestions of what I should check next? I have an 84 GT 5.0 that sits in the garage til the weekends and it fires right up each time.[&o]

Turn the ign on a few time's with out turning the motor over. If it starts right away after that than it is fuel related, possibly pump. I've had that happen. Just because pump cycle's on for a few seconds do's not mean you are getting enough pressure.

take an ohm meter and check resistance in your starter power circuit, and then check your ground circuit. could be a simple wire or corrosion problem.

i would have to agree with red and fastblack, fuel pressure is probably where it is at. like he said, turn the ignition on and off a few times before actually tring to start it so if it is the fuel pressure, it will build up better, if it starts fine then, you got it.. if it doesnt change anything, well, atleast you eliminated something. lol. good luck

I have a issue close to that. My car does that and i replaced the battery, but then i realized that its only doing it when the car is warm, i'm sure my starter is heat-soaked, i'm buying a new one and throwing it in on thanksgiving (no turkey here)
