Default Help with MAF and air tube for EFI swap

I'm in the process of swapping EFI into my '65 fastback and have run into a problem. The Pro-M MAF, air tube and K&N filter will not fit without relocating my battery to the trunk which I would rather not do. I need the total length of the entire combo to be about 18" from the center of the throttle body to the tip of the filter and the Pro-M setup I got is about 6" longer than that.

Looking at pictures, it looks like the C&L MAF and elbow are a lot shorter than what I have. The search on this board does not like the term 'C&L' (too few letters?), but I thought that people didn't like that setup for some reason. Assuming it will fit (anybody have any measurements from center of TB to tip of filter?), is there any real reason not to go for it? BTW, I have 24# injectors and an Accufab 65mm TB.

If not, does anybody have any other suggestions for a compact setup that will work reasonably well? I'd rather leave a bit of performance on the table (as long as it still drives well) to keep from having to relocate the battery.

Thanks,
Jeff

Default RE: Help with MAF and air tube for EFI swap

you could use a megasquirt as your tuning system, run the car on speed density and say "screw you MAF"
