Default NEED HELP WITH THERMOSTAT!!

hey guys..how do i install my thermostat? is it in the hose that goes form the engine to the radiator>? how long will ti take to do this?

On the front of your lower intake manifold, there is an aluminum elbow bolted on with two bolts. This is knows as the thermostat housing. You must remove those two bolts and pull off the elbow to access the thermostat. You will then need to reinstall it with a new gasket.

ok thank i bought he gasket..nwo i have a nother problem..i feel liek an idiot but hey im savin soem dough..i just put a new drive belt on my car, its on right its just not tightening...i start the car and none of the pullies spin..whats the deal?

one of the two bolts are a bitc on fox bodys housing , do it with the motor completely cold.

first i would double check that it is the right belt, then make sure your belt tensioner is working right, then chack the diagram to make sure it is on right

i checked all that..but i dont know if the tensioner is working right..how do i know if it is?

check it by how much resistance it has when you move it with whatever you used to turn it it should have a decent amount of resistance

it has very little resistance..but i dont really get what u are talking about either..lol i just loosened the alt and the belt slid off i slipped th enew one on tightend the alt..and it was way loose...

did teh old belt spin, why did you change it, i have always changed mine by using the belt tensioner, sounds like its bad, you can get them on ebay all day long

i cheanged the belt because it was old and squeaked...and yea i guess the belt tensioner is bad...
