Help pulling a 5sp tranny out of a 92 lx 5.0
 

I found what seems to be a decent 5sp tranny at the junk yard today. What is involved in pulling it of the car and how can I tell on a non-running car if the tranny is good?

as long as it spin over the only real way to tell is install it and run through the gears to see if any sincros are trashed as far as what's needed to remove....if bellhousing isn't needed unbolt 4 bolts holding it to it, remove shifter = 4 bolts, h- pipe, speedo gear cable and any elec connections, crossmember and tranny mount and driveshaft and it should pull right out:D

Put the car on jackstands as high as you can.
remove the shifter
Drop the drive shaft
drop you H pipe
Drain tranny fluid
Unplug all connections
pull out speedo cable/gear
unbolt the bellhousing or just the front of the tranny if you want(just doing the tranny will be easier, wont have to mess with the clutch cable)
remove crossmember
lower tranny
