Default Is anyone here using RHS heads?

I am at a complete loss here. I have no idea what to do.

I had my motor almost completely together, and happen to notice a gap in one of my gaskets. I decided to investigate and found that I had an oversized gasket. you can see here what my problem is. The biggest issue I have is that my coolant passages are just as big as the ports on this gasket. I changed to a different gasket, but im still afraid that the cooling system will not seal properly in there corners...

what should I do?

pretty lame if you have to use company specific gaskets, if the hole in the intake is still sticking out you'll need to have those holes shrunk up with a little welding on the intake.

that sucks dude, but be glad you caught it.

btw, wtf are you doing using the end seals between the intake and lifter valley [&:][&:]

fel-pro 1250 gaskets have a variety of different port shapes which allow you to cut/trim accordingly to your port size..maybe they'll work?? hmmm as for the extra bit hangin over the edge??? weld it up???[&:]

So you're saying the passages in the lower intake are the same size as the gasket? Like mjr said, Fel Pro makes an intake gasket that you can trim depending on what the passage is like, but if your intake passage is still too big, then yeah, it'll need to be welded.

I have 1262's now.. but the problem is that i dont need the port tp be larger... I need the intake side to be smaller.. im afraid its not going to seal properly because the intake literally hangs off the head

yeah I know that.......but the difference is in the head and the way it was machined = small port size for coolant and a lack of mating surface[&:]..hmmm that's the first I've heard of a problem like you got[&:]

wow thats amazing. Is the problem basically the port in the gasket is too big and overhangs to the outside of the block? Maybe check out some other gaskets that have a smaller coolant port in them, even tho the angle just looks way off.
