Ok i have a few questions, 1. should i get a 3 angle valve job if im getting heads in a few months? will it help the AFR's? 2. Are 185cc's really worth notching the pistons and all that work and money? 3. What aobut the 165cc's how are they? thanks

are you buying bare heads or ones with everything already on them? If I was buying heads ready to go, I would not take them apart to change the valve seat angles.
165s will be higher compression than 185s, with either one you will have to match your pistons and the valve lift to make sure you will have enough piston/valve clearance.

i didnt think u had to notch the pistons for 165s? 185s are they worth it? do i have to do any bottom end work?

The 165's you SHOULDN'T have to notch the pistons, as I have never heard of anyone needing too, just bolt on heads.. But it is always recommended to check the PTV clearance. 185's have a lower compression, and bigger valves, requires a lot more work and money over the 165's.. I would just go 165's... That's just me, and in fact I am going 165's...........Someday

get the 165's. i have them, they are great. took a full second off my quarter mile time. the 185's are for a larger engine. 165's are great for the 302. you dont need any piston notching and you dont have to do anything to the bottom end. i didnt do either of these things. the 165's are supposed to be a direct bolt in replacement. i did have to buy new valve covers though to clear my new roller rockers. if you get the stud mount heads, you will need to buy roller rockers and new push rods so keep that in mind. i dont recomend getting the pedistal mount heads

when all was said and done i put about $2000 into my car with my heads.
165's=$1300
24# injectors=$200
maf recalibration=$35
roller rockers=$200
pushrods=$70
gaskets=more then i wanted but cant remember. i need a new head gasket and intake manifold gasket

you dont have to get bigger injectors buy i did sense my 19#ers litteraly fell apart in my hands as i took them out.

Pedistal mount rollers aren't as strong as stud mount, and they flex alot. All hi performance engines use stud mount rocker arms.

the 185's already come with a 6 angle valve job so the valves wouldnt need to be worked at all
