there is no torque spec ..you have to tighten it down until the crush collar crushes and applies the proper amount of preload which you use a turning torque. wrench that measures rotational drag the spec for this is with a new bearing 16-29 inch lbs using a torque meter that measures turning torque

um, that would be called an inch pound torque wrench.

why are you replacing the crush sleeve? what's going on with the rear end?

right but the kind I have and use is a snap -on one that has a circular gauge on it that measures inch lbs kind of like a dial indicators gauge looks

i used a screwdriver in the hole in the flange to hold it, my impact wasnt even strong enough, i had to use handle of the jack on a breaker bar using my leg. But you need to get the inch lbs measurement before you put the crush sleeve on.

cant i use my hand to hold it? ill set the pinion first then set the backlash right.carrier shims go on the ring gear side or the pass. side. i think i just need to pull it apart then ill be able to actually see what going on with it.
Go rent a big pipe wrench from somewhere and use it to hold the sides of the yoke, then let the handle rest on the ground while you're torqueing it.
