Default Possible head and RR swap!!!!

Hey eveyone, I was on my localclassidieds and found a pair of 1993 gt40 heads that are ported and polished! Here is the thing, the ad has been on there for like 1.5 - 2 weeks, and me thinking these were out of my reach didnt ask. I just talked to him and he said they were ready to go, all I would need is new RR's. SO I asked how much for the heads, and he said $400. In my responce I asked if he would let the RR's and heads go for $500, and he said DEAL!

Heres my deal, the guy lives like 2 hours away, which isnt that long at all, but I just dont wanna get there and see a stock pair of E7's. Do the GT40's have "GT40" right in the casting? HOw can I tell if these are f'ed, and does this sound right for the price?. Thanx for any help!

i know for a fact they say gt on them near the end of the head, and they will have the f1 or f3 cast in them as well.

Thanx guys, I just wanted to have some info to go there with. About the condition of the heads, is there anything I can look for besides huge cracks. I'm new, and this seems like a good deal, so any help is AWESOME. Thanx again!

Mine say "GT" and have casting number F3ZE. They don't say GT40.

just inspect the chambers closely, and see if all 8 intake valves look about the same color and all 8 exhaust valves look about the same color - that will give you a pretty good indication that everything is ok
