Default bypassing the heater core???

i was in the process of replacing the heater hoses and accidentally broke one of the heater core inlet tubes. Can i just bypass the heater core all together by putting a loop hose on those two pipes from the engine? Is this normally done or do i have to replace the heater core.

You could probably get away with it, now that spring is coming. But you'll probably want to replace it in the fall.

ya, i know im going to have to replace it but the books directions say that i have to completely drain the freon from the a/c and disconnect all those lines and then start on removing the heater core. would i be able to replace the core without doing all that other stuff?

just loop a pice of hose from the top outlet of the intake tube to the bottom outllet and put a clamp on each end. I had to do that after I broke mine until I got it fixed.

i just got done looping the hose from the inlet to the outlet using a reducer because the hoses are two different sizes. it looks like it will work but the hose is a little pinch in it. im not sure if that is a big deal or not. i looks like water will still flow, just a little slower. Maybe i will just go the distance and take my dash out and replace the stupid heater core...

Ya i had to bypass mine... When i bypassed it i pretty much pinched the hose off totally not sure if thats good or not but havent had any problems...

Not to hyjack the thread or anything but this is sortof on the lines of the coolant system.. Soo waht i was wondering was why my Water temp. gauge is tached out... When i wigle the connection it will drop the needle to 270 but after a while it will just work its way back up.. What is the problem??? would it be the gauge or the sensor??? i know im not running that hot because i would have water boiling over....
