question for the e-303 guys...
ok, so there's another thing that I'm getting tired of in my car. Whenever i start my car up, the cam takes awhile before the idle settles down. for example. i'll start it, and its up and down about 150rpm's. sometimes it drops low enough to where it cuts off. if it doesnt cut off, it levels out to around 900 after about 15 seconds, or if i go ahead and give it some gas and get moving. also, whenever i'm in reverse, it tends to cut off more often, and i'm not sure why, i guess i just need to give it more gas.
anyone know how to solve the idle bouncing at start up??? or should i just learn to deal with it???

RE: question for the e-303 guys...
clean the IAC motor and check for vaccum leaks and or excessive carbon build up in the intake or cumbustion chambers can cause a lean idle surge because carbon is pourous and acts as a sponge when the car is first started up and until the carbon becomes saturated it robs the fuel from the mixture until car warms up or in some cases the first minute or two...a good induction clean or seafoam treatment can help cure issue

well, its been happening since i did my h/c/i swap. i figured it just comes with the cam. i cleaned my maf, iac, and tb like 3 weeks ago, so i know that they're good.

i had a b-cam in my old 87 5.0 that did that, do you have a cold air kit? sounds crazy but i went through hell trying to find out why my car did that change iac, clean t/b adjust tps, and it was the way that i had my cold air set up i was getting fan wash.. that air from your cooling fan makein your idle surge

RE: question for the e-303 guys...
1. KOEO/KOER self test + solve failure codes
2. Base idle reset to the lowest possible setting
3. Make sure no vacuum leaks are present or an open breather setup is on the RH valve cover (breather hose still connected to the TB)
I've set EFI's with the X-303/Stg2 w/out any problems or an aftermarket tune.

i agree it's not the cam. my e303 idles great. but it hasnt always. i checked my codes and fixed the problems so i have a pass code now. the idle air valve was cleaned and cleaned but it wasnt until i bought a new one that it finally worked out the last of the idle problems.

Does your voltage guage bounce around at all. Mine doesand if I hold my rpms at 1000 for a while it levels out and is fine so I'm thinking I need to upgrade to a 130amp orbetter altenator.

Mine did that a lil bit when it was cold, turns out i just had the idle set too low. Ofcourse mine was fluctuating a lot more than 150rpm... It's possible your computer doesn't like it, may take a while to learn or getting a tune would take care of it.
