Default v6 to v8 swap

I know a guy that is selling a 1997 v6 mustang rolling chasis. No motor or tranny. I'm wanting to get this and put a v8 into it. The guy is only selling the body for $1000, and its in pretty good shape. From what someone told me, it would involve having to go into the fire wall. I'm not sure of what all is going to be needed here, i'm just thinking of the simple stuff here, fuel pump, ecu, tranny, motor accessories. . .. but would there really need to be any body modification? Oh yeah, and the reason i posted this here, is because i plan on putting a 5.0 into the car from 87-90.

it would be easier to buy a new car or buy a donor car that had a V8 in it and use all the wiring in it

Well, i can get the engine, tranny, and ecu for around $1500 on ebay, and $1000 for the car. . .. . . so $2500 isn't seeming too bad right now, give or take $500-1500 for any extra wires, exhaust and crap needed. BTW, engine would be complete with accessories and headers. would there be any chasis problems though . .. thats what i'm worried about.

The rear ends need to be swapped out since all V6s used the 7.5" rear end.

No body mods , it will bolt righ in . This body style came with the 5.0 until 1995 , the 7.5 rear will live with a mild combo just fine , ford motorsport sell a u-jojnt to mate the v-8 drive shaft . To get behind the weel faster just throw a carb on untill you get all the EFI stuf in order or untill you got to get a smog test . That is a nice car and a steal at $1,000

No really worried about a fast start. I've got a daily driver, i'd like to take my time and make this baby roar when i get it set up.
