Default Speakers.

I know it should go in the audio section but no one will answer this and i need a response quickly.

i installed my new pioneer 5 1/4" door speakers and they sound wicked clean...

my other speakers blew even though they were brand new, i will return those, shoulda bought the pioneers first.

anyway i wrapped the pioneers magnet and stuff with saran wrap to keep moister out, is that ok?

another question, what size are the rear speakers on a 91 5.0?

thanks.

i might be pissing into the wind here, but i don't think that wrapping them in plasitc would be a great thing to do. i would assume the speakers need to breathe a little bit ya know?? i've never seen speakers that didn't have some way of getting air to them, or letting air out. but i'm not expert bud. just my 2 cents on this one.

its not a special size, i think its 5 by 7... all im sure of is its the next size down from 6 by 9, and i wouldnt wrap the speakers up, because the more air getting to the magnet, the cooler the coil is going to be... might help keep speakers from cliping...

ive used baffles such as these and they work pretty good. they will keep the moisture out. im sure you can find them cheaper on ebay, but here is what im talking about

foam baffles

also you can find out what speakers you car calls for at crutchfield. sometimes the rear speakers are different, for some reason on an 89 there were 2 different sizes that were used. i had to take the cover off and look myself before i put new ones in.

what fits?

more than likely its a 5x7. they arent really special sizes, ford just has the mounting holes in different places than other makes. thats why there are so many screw holes around some speakers. so they can fit in different makes.

Well, I'm not sure about letting the magnets breathe or whatever, because idealy for the best sound the speaker should be within an air-tight box. Although that rarely is the case, my friend builds them from scratch for his sound setup in his truck.
