when I lay into my car I hear almost like a pinging sound after about 3500 rpm. I cant tell if its the engine or the trans but it sure bothers me. Any input would be great

your timing is probably too high...what grade of fuel are you using?

mine did that when i first got it... so i used sea foam and premium gas.
if you don't want to use premium gas, try sea foam then if it still pings check your timing and adjust accordingly.
also check your spark plugs to see if the problem is predetonation. if you advanced your timing you could possibly try a colder spark plug. just make sure it isn't fouling.

is it literally a pinging sound? spark knock doesn't really sound like a pinging noise.
