now, i know this has been answered a million times, but i just want to get some opinions.
this car is going to be my daily driver. if the motor is carbed, should i keep it that way? or do a efi setup? would i have to tune the carb every now and then or is it a set-it-and-leave-it? if not, how much would it be to convert it to an efi? could i use any of my efi stuff from my 2.3?
Personal opinion, but I know that I would rather have an EFI setup for a daily driver. Also, you cant put a price on it. IF you decide to switch it to EFI are you going to swap with aftermarket parts? stock parts? You might be albe to get a good deal at a junkyard on all the stock efi equiptment.
also, if its a non H.O. engine, what are the main differences between the non h.o. and the h.o.? what would need to be done to make it a h.o?
There are a few threads floating around on the main differences. There may possibly even be a tech article in the stickies..... not positive though.
and what are the most noticeable mods that are daily-driver friendly?
Everyone has their own definition of "driver friendly". Some people consider 600rwhp cars "driver friendly". There is a mods list in the stickies that you could check out that will give you more than a few ideas on power, suspension, trans mods, rear end mods, etc.
any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

RE: 5.0 for 20$
i have an 84 with a 92 SVO crate carbed motor, posi 3.73 8.8 rear pretty heavily modded and i drive it every day. it all depends on the way you drive day to day like if you can keep your foot out of the floor board. the most common mods that i see that are not so expensive and help the car alot would be intake, headers, and exhaust system.

KEEP the following
4 cylDriveshaft (yes it is strong enough)
4 cyl Radiator (it is way bigger than the 5L rad so = better cooling)
4 cylFan ( pretty much the same)
