Optima Battery Sizes

Hi everyone. Im new to the forum and new to Mustang ownership. I just recently bought a mint condition 1990 5.0 GT 25th anniversary edition. I'll post more about it and pics in the "new mwmber" section later. Anyways, I am a huge car audio junkie and am currently working on my new system that Im going to be puting into this car. I've decided that I want to upgrade to an optima battery. The trouble is (im sure you all know) is that optima has not listed a specific battery for this car. I went to a local Advanced Auto and they told me that none of them will fit becuase they are a little taller than the stock batter and will hit the underside ofthe hood when i close it. I have seen optimas in mustangs before so I know there is a way. Does anyone know the exact model redtop that will fit in my mustang? All i need are top posts. Thanks for you help!

congrats on the new stang, under the hood looks great, im not shure about the battery but their are a few cars that use the same battery as the mustang, so their has to be one, or you could reloacate it to the trunk.:D

yea i was thinking about relocating it in the trunk but im already going to be running a second redtop for my audio system and I dont want a gaping empty space in the engine compartment where the old battery used to be. Although now that i think about it, it might be cool to have both batteries side by side in the trunk. Well, im going to have to wait till the weather goes above 10 degrees before i get outside and take the stang out of storage.
