Can you tellby looking at a rear axle what gear set the axle came with stock. Any markings? I might be buying a SN-95 axle tag number S262C 73 75 7J03. The guy says he doesn't know. I'm just hoping it isn't 2.73's. Please help. Thanks.

I think your second set is missing a number. 2.73's would be my guess, that probably says S262C 273

Is that the way the tag would usually read? So S262C308 75 7J03 would be 3.08's so on and so forth? Or is that a guess?

usually there will be a first set of number/letter like 2L or 3L ..then to the right a few spaces it'll start like this ....73 or......08...........so 2L......73 would be 2.73's and vice versa for 3.08's

I guess that would make it a 2.73
