Default 94-95 GT/Cobra

I have a few questions actually. I've really been looking into buying a mustang. I like the newer body styles a bit better then the older "boxier" types. I have heard the older models run alot better due to them being lighter. </P>

All of this is just word of mouth, that's why if anyone knows a good mustang statistic page, that perhaps compares all mustangs within the last 2 decades that would be helpful.</P>

Also being since 95 was the last for the 5.0's, but yet the new body style, that really caught my attention. Then i heard that stock they were ALOT slower then some of the other older/newermustangs, due to them being heavier?</P>

How much of this is fact? And how much fiction? I would really be interested in a 94-95, but if they are that much slower, why would i just get a 4.6 and hook it up.</P>

Sorry for the ranting, i appreciate any comments/suggestions.</P>

My friend has a 1994 Mustang Cobra 5spdwith 23,000 Miles and its very nice. It looks extremly good when its washed and the rims are very nice too. He dyno'd at 223RWHP with just Bosch +4 Spark Plugs and drop in K&amp;N. </P>

*EDIT* Forgot to mention that he raced my friend who has a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and won by about a car length. </P><edited><editID>harvey041</editID><editDate>37893.0069675926</editDate></edited>

i have a 95 gt, expect to run in the low 15s stock but a 96-98 gt will run the same. yea the 93 lx 5.0 is faster becuase of the weight but i would much rather have the looks if the 94up.

94-95gt is about the cheepest mustang to mod and simple mods do alot. 4.6s are much more spendy to mod. 99up GTs run 14flat stock.

i think 87-93 mustangs run 14.8-9 or something im not sure correct me if im wrong. but are also very easy and cheep to mod.

Cool thanks, i'm gonna have to look in the paper and see what people have for sale. I also like the 93 body style quite a bit, i dont see too many 94-95 for sale.

Just keep in mind for every 100 pounds you take off your car expect to lose a tenth of a second in the 1/4 mile.

the foxbodies arent that much lighter, ur lookin at like 100/200 pounds...go with the 94/95 style if u like it, its not gunna make that much of a diff. i raced a 94/95 couple weeks ago and he took me by like a car (not stock obviously) but in any case...the diff between the foxbody and sn95 is nothing but body shizzle<IMG src=smileys/smiley14.gif border="0">

Check out www.car-stats.com
They have quarter times for just about every car out there. Like allblack said, the 5.0 has the cheapest mods out there. Your better off gettin a 5.0, you wont be disappointed.

be that as it may, i must come in and defend the modular 4.6's (96+) if you plan on running boost. they take it quite well i hear. also, its been said that they rev easier than pushrod engines. may cost a little more (actually it shouldnt if you look around), but theres nothing wrong with a newer technology.
