i get about 21mpg highway with 4.10s and mods in my sig. I'd go ahead and get 3.73s with a 5spd.....If your worried about gas mileage, why would you buy a v8 mustang ? They arent economy cars
Although i get about 14-16 in the city......Either way, i'm not complaining.
Do a complete tune up too. Autolite 25s will do ya fine, and they are only 1.48 a peice. Platinum plugs arent necessary in our cars....

i'd check the spark plugs, wires and coil packs. and maf sensor. unplug the maf sensor and see if it runs better.

Anyone know what ball park figure a set of 3.73's installed would run?

lol... I am aware of that. Just don't want a vehicle that gets the mileage of my old 1990 454ss. Want some good power and some decent mileage at the same time.
Anyone know what ball park figure a set of 3.73's installed would run?

hmm how much more to the 1994-1995 cars weigh? I just mean to say that the engine, even if exactly the same as eariler engine (its not), would have to work harder... but how much? Anybody know the average weight difference between - say 1992GT to 1995GT
where is the extra "fat" is is mostly to stifen up the chassis and therefore would not take to removal well...?

A friend just informed me that the same rearends were used in all kinds of Ford vehicles with different gears. He mentioned that the explorers mostly had 3.73's in them. How hard would it be to go the junk yard and get the gears out of another diff? Is there a write up somewhere on how to do this? It can't be that hard I'm sure.
