your fan thickness is too thick...the proper fan conversion the cheap way that most people use is the taurus fan set up....if the Mark fan is too fat then you'll have no choice but to get a thinner fan

trust me its trimmed all the way down to the point that i had to use spacers to stop the fan from contacting the rad and rubbing. alright ill try to go with the taures one how good does it work? the mark fan pulls like no other.

It will fit, trim away.

Also the fan will sit JUST under the water pump pulley
I probably only have 1/8" clearance from top of fan housing
to water pump pulley, but it DOES fit when trimmed down

and mine is on an extra thick 3 core Fluidyne radiator

So rbarn, you got the Mark fan to fit?? I have the 3 core fliudyne also, I was get one off ebay and me and the seller PM'd each other like 4 times. By the specs he gave, the fan would hit my w/p pulley by smigges, he said he couldnt trim it anymore, so I am still looking for a good fan. How'de ya do it? Our cars look pretty close by your posts.

The fan has to sit JUST under the water pump pulley

If they were lined up, then yes they would hit.
My fan sits about 1/8" below my water pump pulley
with as much trimmed as you can.

It fits perfect on mine.

I even have "Vert mounts" which lower the engine another 1/2"
below normal "Hatch mounts".

That's another thing to check. Are your mounts bad? and causing
engine to sag down or lean ???

There solid motor mounts, so I would say no. I didn't check clearance if I moved the fan down below the w/p pulley but i didn't want to buy something and find it didn't work, guess I couldve re ebayed it, but it sold. Looking for something other than my black magic, doesnt seem to cover alot of rad space.
