Nah, go with a FMS R302.
It's what im going for and I believe I paid around 1800 for it bare.
It's basically Ford's answer to them beefy *** dart blocks

The Ford R-Block has been around for years long before the Dart was ever out.Ford has recommended HP rating of 1200HP for the R-Block but they have been in many outlaw motors and pro 5.0 cars making well over 1200hp.I got mine around 4 or 5 years ago the part number for the block is M-6010-R302I also paid just over $1500 for mine and then had to put almost another $800 machine work before I could even put it together. It also only has 4 bolt mains on the 2 3 4 main caps.here is a picture of mine I could get you more if you want some. it also has siamese bores.

Dbeck, im doing the same thing sometime, here is what i have Ford racing block, not shure which one yet, an eagle forged stroker 331, a lunati cam, afr's 165, or 185 not shure yet, holley systimax intake, and the vecco twin turbo kit stage 2, it should make somewhere in the 600hp range
