Default Exhaust Question

I have an 88 Fox Gt. When I purchased the car it has BBK exhaust. Sounds great, runs great the only thing I don't like is it seems to hang down low on the car and when I take it over speed bumps and on a dirt driveway I have to really watch it and go slow or the exhaust will drag. Is there an exhaust/header combo that tucks under the car better? Also what is a good place to start with performance? I was told it has bigger fuel injectors but looks to me like it still has the stock fuel rails. Also was told it has an aftermarket clutch. I have ordered the Steeda Adjustable Clutch kit with firewall adjuster and aluminum quadrant. The clutch has gone crazy twice now. Won't dissengage. Think it maybe the plastic quadrant on the clutch so I thought I would just change everything to be safe. Any help or advise would be greatlly appriciated...[8D]

Default RE: Exhaust Question

injectors are a waste unless u start pushing 300+ hp... stockers are fine...

Minor Bolt ons would be to start relieving the belt drive of any unneeded drag... rip out smog pump... if not having A/C don't bother you, rip it out and buy a p/s pump relocation bracket... get aluminum pulleys, get an electric fan, that'll net you about 20 peak hp right there... maybe more

as for the exhuast, mine hangs really low also if i have a passenger and i got over a bump the x pipe scrapes... people usually say tighten the exhaust up... idk what they mean when they say that... might as well just completely change the headers and mid pipe and go for long tubes.

Alero99, Thanks a heap... I am looking right now at some things for bolt on. Do you think a mass air flow conversion would be something to look into. And what about the SCT Eliminator Switch Chip have you heard anyone having some luck with it?

ehhh, should be fine with the Speed Density if your doing just bolt ons, speed density is fine until you start using bigger injectors cuz the speed density i beleive (somone plz correct me if im wrong) are specifically tuned for 19lbs injectors... if u go bigger u can always burn a chip

i am speed density.... i am doing everything except opening up the engine on my car and my stock speed denisty and 19lb injectors will do me fine for the set up...

I say screw Mass air lol a guy here is running SD still and is in the 12s i think
